North African country. Here is an itinerary that covers some of the highlights :
You’ll be picked up from your accommodation in Marrakech at 8:00 am and travel to
Ouarzazate via the Tizi ‘n’ Tichka pass, which offers stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains.
You’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou before continuing to Dades
Valley. Along the way, you’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, known for its roses and annual festival. You’ll
spend the night in a local riad/guest house in the heart of the Dades Gorge.
After breakfast, you’ll drive through the Dades Valley and visit rock formation “the monkey
toes.” You’ll then travel to Tinghir and the Todra Valley, where you’ll see panoramic views of old mud
Berber villages. You’ll walk under the 300 m high red cliff at Todra Gorge and enjoy lunch in Erfoud or
Rissani. In the afternoon, you’ll ride a camel into the Erg-Chebbi dunes, where you’ll watch the sunset
before having dinner, a campfire, and an overnight stay in the desert.
You’ll wake up early to watch the sunrise in the Sahara Desert, then ride your camel back to
Merzouga for breakfast and a hot shower. You’ll travel to Fes via Errachidia, Ziz Gorges, and Midelt,
stopping for lunch and a barbecue in Zaida. You’ll visit the Barbarian Monkeys in the cedar forest in
Azrou and take memorable pictures in Ifrane before arriving in Fes. You’ll have dinner and spend the
night at your accommodation.
After breakfast, you’ll explore Fes, the “Spiritual City of Morocco.” You’ll spend the morning in
the Medina, visiting the Al Karaouine Mosque and University, the Medrasa Bouanania, the Tanneries,
and the Najjarine fountain. After lunch, you’ll visit the Royal Palace gate, the Jewish quarter “the
Mellah,” and the pottery cooperative. In the afternoon, you’ll go to one of the fortresses for an
amazing panoramic view of the Medina. You’ll spend the night at the same riad.
After breakfast, you’ll leave Fes for Chefchaouen via Ouazzane. You’ll have many breaks to
enjoy different landscapes along the way. When you arrive in Chefchaouen, you’ll have free time to
explore the blue town before checking into your hotel.
